Prototype Car Information
The prototype cars were built by Pullman-Standard in 1948 for the Frisco and were originally used on the 'Texas Special'. Four of these coaches were purchased from the Frisco by the Great Northern in February 1966 and decorated in their new Big Sky Blue scheme in 1967.
These cars were used on the 'Western Star', the 'Badger', the 'Gopher', the 'International', and the Portland to Seattle ‘Pool Trains’.
Mount Rainier N Scale Club has commissioned Rail Smith Models to produce our 30th Anniversary cars. These cars are N scale models of a Great Northern Fluted Coach in the Big Sky Blue paint scheme and are named "MOUNT RAINIER".
We are pleased to offer a limited number of these cars to the public for $50.00 US plus $12.00 US for shipping to US addresses.
